As a young lawyer who was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006, Tola started her career with the law firm of M. A. Banire and Associates where she was active in the Commercial Department. Her primary duties involved documentation and perfection of clients’ interests in real property and participation in litigation on various subject matters ranging from breach of contract, loan recovery, tort, election petitions and other subject areas. She was also involved in carrying out registration of companies and other forms of company compliance filing duties at the Corporate Affairs Commission as well as the preparation and review of simple and complex contracts and other commercial agreements.
In 2007, she joined Zenith Bank Plc as an Executive Assistant whose primary functions involved business development and structuring of trade transactions such as advance payment guarantees and letters of credit to be presented to the management committee for approval.
In 2010, Tola joined S. P. A. Ajibade & Co. where she is currently a member of the Real Estate and Probate Department. Her core duties include researching and proffering legal advice and opinions to a range of clients pertaining to their rights, privileges and duties in various areas; preparation of agreements, pleadings, briefs of argument and other forms of legal documentation; attendance in courts and other adjudicatory bodies to represent clients’ interests; perfection and registration of title to land at the Lands Bureau as well as obtaining grant of probate and letters of administration on behalf of various clients.
For Tola, being a lawyer has been a privilege which has allowed her the opportunity to develop both as an individual and as a member of the firm where she enjoys striving towards the achievement of the collective objectives and goals of the organisation. Her current interest areas include international sale of goods, banking and payments in international sales, carriage of goods by sea, corporations and international business law.
