Yimika obtained her LL.B., degree from Lagos State University in 2002. She was admitted to the Nigerian bar in 2004. She is an internationally trained lawyer and member of the Law Society to Alberta, Canada. Prior to rejoining S.P.A. Ajibade & Co., in 2018, Yimika practiced law with Duke Law Office, Edmonton, Alberta.
As part of the Capital Market and Corporate Finance team, Yimika advises on legal issues arising under the Companies and Allied Matters Act, Investment and Securities Act, the Rules and Regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Supervisions Circulars & Guidelines of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Listing Rules of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. She also provides Company Secretarial & Regulatory compliance. Her other areas of practice include family law, immigration law, and real estate.
Yimika works very hard for her clients and can quickly assess a file and give a client the "big picture" of what the client's options may be. Clients benefit from her keen eye for small, but important details. She has lots of experience in court. However, her first option is to try to settle matters prior to proceeding to court, thereby reducing her client’s stress and costs.
